marthaville principal

NATCHITOCHES, LA – The Natchitoches Parish School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Andrew Newman as the new principal of Marthaville Elementary and Junior High School.

Mr. Newman brings over a decade of experience in education, leadership and coaching. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Education (K-12) from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He furthered his commitment to educational excellence by earning a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the same institution.

Mr. Newman began his career at Many High School in Sabine Parish, where he taught Spanish and coached cross country, track, and volleyball. He later joined Natchitoches Parish Schools at Natchitoches Central High School (NCHS), serving as a teacher, head girls' soccer coach, and assistant volleyball coach.

His leadership qualities quickly became evident, leading to a transition into the role of Master Teacher at NCHS. In this position, he led professional development for teachers, supported instructional improvements, and collaborated with school leadership to advance student achievement. Mr. Newman later transferred to Marthaville, where he continued to support academic growth and school improvement efforts.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Newman has served as a regional representative for the Louisiana Foreign Language Teachers Association, worked as a technology coordinator, and taught online ESL classes to students around the world. His passion for student success and instructional leadership aligns closely with the mission of NPSB.

Superintendent Dr. Grant Eloi shared, “Mr. Newman’s diverse experience, strong leadership background, and student-centered approach make him an excellent fit for Marthaville. We’re excited to see the continued growth and success of the school under his leadership.”

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Newman as he begins this new chapter serving the students, families, and staff of Marthaville Elementary and Junior High.
