On Wednesday, November 20, 2025, the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) released the 2024–2025 School Performance Scores for districts across the state. These scores reflect the academic achievement and growth of students during the 2024–2025 school year under the state’s new, more rigorous accountability system.
Natchitoches Parish Schools are celebrating historic progress, marking the highest district performance score ever recorded. Despite the increased rigor of the new accountability scale, NPSB successfully maintained its “B” district rating, coming within 3.6 points of an “A”, and rising to 22nd in the state, up from 43rd in 2020. The district also ranked 7th in the state overall for special education performance, demonstrating exceptional support and growth for students receiving specialized services.
This year’s results highlight continued districtwide improvement. NPSB now has six schools earning an “A” in student progress, compared to only two in 2020, and all remaining schools earned a “B” in progress. The district once again has no “D” or “F” schools, reflecting strong, sustained academic gains across campuses. Five schools were recognized as Top Gains and Opportunity Honorees, and four schools successfully removed Subgroup Labels through improved performance. Additionally, NPSB saw increases in both its graduation rate and ACT index, signaling broader, long-term academic momentum.
Natchitoches Parish continues to outperform the state, scoring 5.5 points above the statewide average and growing 1.3 points more than the state over the past year. Since 2021, Louisiana’s overall performance has grown by 5.6 points, while NPSB has grown by 13.5 points—more than double the state’s rate of improvement.
District officials extend their sincere appreciation to the students, teachers, staff, families, and community partners whose dedication and hard work made this historic achievement possible. Together, Natchitoches Parish Schools continue to set new standards for excellence and student success.
