Farming

Many young people are not considering farming as a career. They are not aware of the opportunities to start, and grow, a farm business. This Youth Agripreneurship program will engage, explore, and develop an entrepreneurship mindset while learning about regenerative agriculture. Classes will be held on Saturdays at 10am - 12pm, from November 6, 2021 through February 5, 2022.

Youth Agripreneurship Program

If you are between the ages of 11 and 18, and you answer yes to these three questions, then the Fall Youth Agripreneurship Program is for you!

  • Do you love the outdoors?
  • Are you interested in farming or gardening?
  • Want to put some money in your pocket?

Participants will learn the basics to start their very own vegetable garden, how to turn it into a business, and make it profitable through diversification and value-added production.

Interested youths are invited to register for the enrichment program by completing an application form. The program is free, but registration is required. Class size is limited to 15 participants. To register, participants may apply online, email their completed application to donna@camptifieldofdreams.org or submit their application to the Natchitoches Parish Library Northeast Branch in Campti as soon as possible to reserve your space.

This program is hosted by Campti Field of Dreams in partnership with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
