As the 2022-2023 school year quickly approaches, we are proud to announce the new Principals for Provencal Elementary/Jr. High School and Lakeview Jr./Sr. High School.
On Monday, June 27, 2022, the Natchitoches Parish School Board hired Diana Curtis as Principal of Provencal Elementary/Jr. High School and Karla Renter as Principal of Lakeview Jr./Sr. High School.
Diana Curtis has been an educator since 2008 and received her Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas in 2011. After being Principal of Logansport High School in Desoto Parish since 2020, Curtis is excited to bring her leadership skills to Provencal Elementary/Jr. High School. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the Provencal community,” says Curtis. “I look forward to meeting the teachers, students, and families that I will serve!”
Karla Renter has been an educator since 1997 and received her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2018. Renter has been with the Natchitoches Parish School District since 2021, serving as Assistant Principal at Natchitoches Junior High—Frankie Ray Jackson School. “I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as Principal of Lakeview High School,” says Renter. “I look forward to a year of successes for the students, the school, and the community as a whole.”
Previous Provencal and Lakeview Principals, Jennifer Martin and William Hymes have taken positions with the NPSB Central Office. Both Martin and Hymes will be Teaching and Learning Specialists for the District.
