The City of Campti is currently experiencing water issues. Lakeview Jr./Sr. High School will dismiss students at 12:30pm today, Thursday, October 5, 2023, due to an ongoing water outage. All parent/teacher conferences scheduled for Lakeview students on Thursday, October 5th, will be cancelled. Lakeview Jr./Sr. High School will hold parent/teacher conferences on Friday, October 6, 2023, if water is restored on campus. Lakeview will make accommodations for parents who may experience scheduling conflicts for parent/teacher conferences on Friday, October 6, 2023. #NPSB #TogetherWeCan #PPoP

Lakeview Students and Guardians, please keep the following things in mind as you return to campus tomorrow!

Lakeview will hold Field Day from noon to 3pm on Monday 5/22. Jr High and High School students will enjoy a variety of separate activities. Students may change into shorts (mid thigh or longer) and a colored t-shirt. (white shirts are NOT permitted). Those who elect to change must change back to school clothes to ride the bus home.

The First Annual Lakeview Educational Voyagers Co-Ed Softball Tournament will be held at Pecan Park which is located at 1452 Highway 9 Saline, LA. All proceeds will help fund the students in the Lakeview High School Travel Club fund their trip to New York City and Washington D.C. in 2024. For more information on this event and any questions about this upcoming trip please contact either Mrs. Goff, Ms. Linscomb or Mrs. Weaver.

This past Saturday, April 22nd, several of our beginning band students were selected to perform in the CENLA beginning band Honor Band. They were: Braden Cook, Jacob Montgomery, Brianna Morgan, Logan Rachal, Wyatt Sines, Joseph Tingle, Kaleah Vaughn, and Josh Withers. There were also 4 students from Fairview-Alpha elementary who were also selected. They were: Jazmyne Clark, Natalyn Corley, Emma Cook, and Connor Franks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKUVoqa-n_E On Thursday, March 30th, the Lakeview symphonic band competed in the Louisiana music educators large ensemble band competition. The band received Superior ratings from each of the three stage judges with Superior marks for every category judged. This is the best possible score a band can achieve! When asked about the performance Mr. S said "The students really gave me their heart out there today and to me that is what music is all about... heart" All the judges were very impressed that the band had such a full band sound for having only 13 members! Congratulations to our Symphonic Band students!

The Ring Ceremony will be held on May 17 in the Lakeview Multipurpose Room. Juniors have already turned in their forms. All information has been posted in the Junior GoogelClassroom.

Jr High Cheerleader tryouts for the 2023-2024 School year will be tomorrow March 29th in the Jr High Gym starting at 3:15 till 5pm. Cheer uniform fee will be $200. Open to Fairview Alpha Elementary grades 3-6 and Lakeview 7th Grade students.

Camp Fast Forward is the place to be for any student going to the 8th or 9th grade in the upcoming 2022-23 school year with dreams of obtaining a medical profession. This special camp is being hosted by the SWLA Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC) and is perfect for a teen that has a genuine interest in working in the medical field. They will learn how to administer first aid, have a chance to get a CPR certification, healthcare simulation and much more. This camp is absolutely free to 8 and 9th graders and will offer a wide variety of medical skill and hands-on training. Requirements 1.) Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher, 2.) Copy of current report card, 3.) Must be going to the 8th or 9th grade next school year Parents may apply for Camp Fast Forward now! Space is very limited. The Lakeview Travel Krewe will hold our 3rd meeting on Tuesday March 28 at 5:30 in the school Library. This meeting is for adults responsible for students who were invited to the planned NewYork/DC trip in 2024. If you attended either of the first 2 meetings during parent teacher conferences (in person or via Zoom) you do NOT need to attend again. If you can't make it in person, contact tracy.linscomb@npsb.la to be invited to the Zoom meeting.

Lakeview High School will hold a Senior FAFSA Night (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) , Thursday, March 16 from 3:30 - 5:30 for all parents in need of assistance in completing their child’s FAFSA. Representatives from Career Compass will be available for guidance in completing your FAFSA and to answer any questions you may have. All seniors must complete a FAFSA as a part of their graduation requirement. Seniors Pictures! On March 1st the photographer will be at Lakeview to take Senior cap and Gown pics. Girls - Please arrive for the start time of 9 am if you won't otherwise be at school. Be ready with a top that won't show under the gown (under your school shirt). Boys should arrive at 11:00 am. If you wear a white collared shirt, you won't have to use the prop collar.
